Featured Craftsman: Tiaan - Rhino Constructors

September's Featured Craftsman is Tiaan of Rhino Constructors. Tiaan grew up in South Africa, with a technical schooling background that would have lead to civil engineering. He came to the USA shortly after high school, landing in Iowa to focus on agriculture. After several years he switched to construction and met his business partner Colten, who has a background in homebuilding.

As the name Rhino suggests, Tiaan and Colten build strong, rigid structures with no compromise on quality. Decks are built 12" OC, using no nails, but screws, and only with good, dried treated lumber. One customer said, "It's a shame we have to cover this beautiful frame with decking." Tiaan's customers appreciate his transparency. He is not a pushy salesman, and he firmly believes in Rhino's approach to construction, attention to detail, and the value they provide to the customer.
